A
Urological Measurement with Potential to Help Diagnose
BOO
Bladder
Outlet Obstruction (BOO) is reported to be one of the
most common urologic problems among elderly male patients.1
To date, invasive and time-consuming urodynamic testing
has been required to achieve a precise diagnosis of
BOO.2
Recent
clinical studies indicate that bladder wall thickness
and related bladder wall mass may correlate with BOO.
Now, a new, portable, handheld
ultrasound instrument that measures UEBW (ultrasound-estimated
bladder weight), as well as bladder volume, is available
for Urologists.
